Michelle Wimberly

Michelle Wimberly serves as the Director of Physician Recruitment and Retention for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS). A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette.

Wimberly joined CIS in 1993 and brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to the institute. Prior to her current position, she served as a receptionist, front office team leader, office team leader, and regional manager and business development manager.

Wimberly is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). In 2006, she received the CIS Ace Award, which is presented to the team leader who carries on the mission, vision, and values held true by the physicians and staff of CIS.

Michelle currently assists with new practice development, LEAN initiatives, patient and employee satisfaction, as well as staff training and development.
